Leadership Maxim series humbles and inspires

December 9, 2019 | (8) Comments

Wow! Another installment of my Leadership Maxims series has come to a close, and I am so impressed by your participation and thoughts on leadership. Hearing how you lead and what you look for in an effective leader has both energized and humbled me.

This series gives me a chance to share my Leadership Maxims and spotlight amazing leadership throughout the organization. This is the first time guest bloggers have been featured on my blog, and I’m so proud of the employees who were highlighted. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about each of them – and all of you who submitted blog posts – and their experiences and thoughts on leadership.  I was also thrilled to read all of the great comments shared online – it’s always a pleasure to discover more about the wonderful people who work at Texas Children’s and to hear from those who make our organization such a special place for our patients and their families.

To reward these folks for their hard work, thoughtful input and continued dedication to Texas Children’s, nearly 100 employees who were either highlighted in the series or participated by commenting on the blog posts had the opportunity to attend an exclusive event with the Houston Texans. Held on December 2, the event included an autograph session with Texans kicker Kaimi Fairbairn and tight end Darren Fells. It also included a behind-the-scenes tour of NRG Stadium, an opportunity to meet two Texans cheerleaders and a chance to mix and mingle with co-workers. This was a well-deserved break that I am thrilled our partnership with the Houston Texans allows.

I look forward to hearing from more of you during next year’s Leadership Maxims series. Until then, keep leading and contributing to our One Amazing Team!

I have no words to describe how wonderful this day was for me. I’m a fan of the Texans and I was able to walk around the stadium where the magic is. I’m so grateful for this opportunity.

What an experience! I am a behind the scene geek and I loved learning about the Texans and what occurs on game days! Hanging out with TCH employees from other departments was an added bonus. Thank you!

What an eye opener the behind the scene tour was! It puts into perspective what a team it takes to make it all work . . . Like at TCH! I will look at the games differently now— especially after actually being ON THE FIELD!!!.
I am very appreciative of the opportunity!
    THANK YOU!
